Lights Out is a cool concept but the director telegraphs every move and scare. Not good. 1/10

Absolutely Fabulous might be for fans of the series only, but it is uproariously good for those fans. Sweetie Darling. 7.5/10 and a more full review here.

Star Trek Beyond is part heady sci-fi that deconstructs the essence of the franchise, and part big dumb action movie thanks to director Justin Lin. All kinds of fans will find different things to like here.  7.5/10 and a more full review here.

58 – The Ghostbusters Infiltrator

It’s the Ghostbusters reboot! And a movie about Bryan Cranston and the drug trade!

The Infiltrator is the story of Robert Mazur who went undercover to follow the money of Pablo Escobar’s cartel in the 80’s. A true story! And great acting, but the pacing kinda drags. Adam gave it 5.5/10, Andy gave it a straight 5.

Ghostbusters! We’ve waited so long and were not disappointed. No one’s childhood was ruined. Everything is great, especially Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. Stick around for the aftercredits sequence, and see it in 3D on Imax if you can! Adam calls it a perfect 10. Andy was bugged by a couple of pieces of fanservice and product placement, but otherwise it’s perfect: 9/10.

57 – Mike and Dave Need the Secret Life of Pets

It’s our shortest episode ever- Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and The Secret Life of Pets are pretty self-explanatory– and good!

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates earns its R-rating, but its four leads are so charismatic it’s hard to dislike them, even if they’re being sociopathic douches. Very funny, and very wrong. Andy gives it 7/10

The Secret Life of Pets is a bulletproof concept, even if its plot is a little formulaic. Kevin Hart as Snowball the bunny steals the movie. Adam gives it 8/10 and Andy is at 7.5/10.

56 – The Big Friendly Swiss Army Tarzan Purge

Lots of movies for the Fourth of July weekend! We start with The Legend of Tarzan, The Purge: Election Year, The BFG, and Swiss Army Man.
