126 – Bad Times at the Venom First Man

Three movies this week as we take on First Man, Venom, and Bad Times at the El Royale. Are we too woke about First Man? Is it boring or inspiring? Venom needed to have more Venom. It’s a 90’s comic book movie whose after credits scenes are better than the movie itself. Stupid, but not terrible. But Bad Times at the El Royale is one bad mother of a movie. And next week Halloween! Stay a while and listen!

125 – The Hate U Give A Star is Born

Back again to discuss two of the first entries into this year’s awards race movies — A Star is Born and The Hate U Give — as well as recap some of what we loved over the summer. Our choices, Hereditary and Upgrade, are also great Halloween movies, so make sure you add them to your holiday movie playlists!

124 – Solo

We review Solo: A Star Wars Story, the origin of the galaxy far, far away’s favorite scruffy-looking nerfherder. Surprise! We love it. For it being such a basic prequel story, it’s surprisingly layered with lots of themes and great filmmaking. Stay a while and listen!

123 – Deadpool 2 [NSFW!]

This episode is not for all ears, because we’re talking Deadpool 2. So, of course, to even discuss some of these things, we will need to use “coarse, adult language, not suitable for work!”

Listen with your headphones on! No spoilers, except for we like it! Listen why.  Also a preview of the Solo movie coming next week, which a tiny independent movie about Red Solo Cups.

120 – Annihilation Oscars

WE ARE BACK! Andy swears about Red Sparrow, talks up Game Night, and Andy and Adam both gush about Annihilation. Our Oscar picks– who will win and who should win. Highlights: Andy doesn’t like Three Billboards or Darkest Hour. Adam likes Call Me By Your Name. We both like Bladerunner 2049 and Andy Serkis– who aren’t nominated. It’s a long episode, but that’s what happens when we’re away for months!

119 – Justice League Coco

Adam is sick, so with our Superman out, Andy had to assemble a Justice League of his own to take on these movies: Kaitlyn Booth of Bleeding Cool, and Mark De Leon and Melissa Martinez from No You Move.  We have lots of feelings about Justice League, and even more about Coco. Bring tissues.

118 – Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok is the best Thor movie. It’s funny, it’s beautiful, and it might even make you think. Listen to us gush over it for almost a half hour set to a soundtrack provided by Led Zeppelin.  9/10. Would Ragnarok again.

117 – Blade Runner 2049

WE LOVE BLADE RUNNER 2049!!! And we’re going to spend 30 minutes not telling you anything about it. No spoilers. Zero. But lots of why it’s good. How it succeeds where movies like Ghost in the Shell, mother!, and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets failed. This is the best movie of the year, and we both give it a 10/10 perfect score.
